No Disclaimer

On the 9th day of Christmas my true love gave to me, "9 ladies dancing ..." Can you hear the melody in your head, and yes we all tend to slow down and enjoy the " F - I - V - E golden rings..." This holiday season seems to be sliding by way too fast.

It is so interesting to hear the slight hesitation when I close my calls to my clients with a "Merry Christmas," as if there should be a fast spoken disclaimer following the statement "The views and statements of this agent do not necessarily reflect that of the company, company employees and their families" (read with deep male voice very quickly).

Nope, no disclaimer. Merry Christmas.

One day I even had the NERVE to suggest to one gal to lean forward and place her hands on the computer screen and say "in Jesus name!" We were attempting to get her Quickbooks program to cooperate. I didn't tell HER, but I had ran out of trouble-shooting options.

Again, no disclaimer. In Jesus name!

Have a God~loving, Merry Christmas, in Jesus name, week!

Hide me now, under Your wings.
Cover me within Your mighty hand.

When the oceans rise and thunders roar.
I will soar with You, above the storm
Father You are king over the flood,
I will be still and know You are God.

Find rest my soul in Christ alone,
Know his power, in quiteness and trust.
When the oceans rise and thunders roar.
I will soar with You, above the storm
Father You are king over the flood,
I will be still and know You are God.
Find rest my soul in Christ alone,

The Smile

The smile. A universal language indeed. At work, one of our motto's is 'People can hear your smile'. Although we are on the phone with our client, we are to smile. The smile affects the pronunciation of our words believe it or not. In essence it tends to add a skip to our voice, that 'it's a good day and I would like to share it with you' attitude. Well, perhaps not THAT extreme, but why not.
The smile does not cost us anything, there is no risk. However the benefits are extraordinary. A smile can change a mood in another, it can ease the common pain. When timed just right, it can share a tender 'I love you.' All the while, the smile can be self absorbed. The one wearing the smile can be changed in an instant.
The smile. Chose it. Wear it. Pass it on!

BORED. Bored I tell you! After a long day of 'catch up' with chores I sit down, all ready to enjoy some good quality, (preferrably romance) television, but what do I find ... NOTHING! All these channels and not a good thing to watch.

SLEEP. Sleep I tell you! After a short period of time of channel surfing, I now turn the lights off on television watching.

Good night.

The Office I go ...

Tomorrow I begin my new job. I have not been in an 'office' setting for nearly 20 years. Apparently I will be working closely on a team of about 12 people. What an adjustment this will be. Spending 8 hours sharing ideas, solving problems, earning a buck.

I feel like a school girl, picking out what I will wear, organizing my yellow legal note pad AND packing my lunch.

I have this ... um ... side of me that LOVES a good prank. However, I have decided to lay low for a bit, giving my co-workers time to adjust to me. THEN, I will stealthily with great creativity share from my lovely decorated bag of got'chtya.

Until then ... to the office I go ...

Okay to Question?

"God is God and THAT is good enough for me." That statement is true of my heart, mind and soul. BUT, I am learning it is OKAY to be honest with Him, even question Him. I know many would fidget and become uncomfortable with the encouragement to do so.

God purposely inspired the stories to be told throughout history of folks just like YOU and me. Moses questioned God's choice of him to go, tell and deliver. God allowed Gideon the time to process through and fit into the title of 'mighty warrior'. Abe, negotiated with God for the town of Sodom.

Now, we can't forget good ole Peter, the guy was right there with honesty. Let's be frank here .... Jesus lived and walked this earth, yes, sinless but He KNOWS the 'stuff' we have to face.

He knows our hearts... He knows the mulling over of thoughts in our minds ... He knows the frustration of circumstances. Why not inter-act with the Immanuel - the with us of God.
I am THERE, in the questioning mode... and I am confident, it is by invitation from my God. Yes, it is okay to question, in reverence, NOT questioning His divinity, but 'help me to understand'.

Bucket List

Have a dream? Thoughts of 'someday I would like to ..." and before you know it, you are swept away in grand moments of ... 'someday.' Many refer to these things as our Bucket List. Those things we would like to do before we kick the bucket, and may I add when we kick it, it spills over and all the unfulfilled dreams roll out on to the floor.

One of my dreams is to spend quiet AWE STRUCK moments experiencing the Northern Lights. There are folks who report on rare occasions you can 'hear' the beauty as well as see it. Now THAT would roll my socks, float my boat, and definitely sharpen the knives in my drawer!
Could the magical dancing lights be that of angelic conversations? If we listen with expectation could we hear the hushed tones of heaven?

Quiet awe struck moments. My dream.

Morning ... my attitude ... my desire ... either ... 'Good Morning Lord', or 'Good Lord, it's morning.' My choice. It is said of the Lord, 'His mercies are new every morning.' "Good morning Lord!"

YES! Even if we use up what 'we' think is our daily allowance, there is always MORE!

"This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!" The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him." ~ Lamentations 3:21-25

A dear friend and I are working through and enjoying God in the little things. As in 'little things' I am referring to those small events that take place, causing us to stop, think, ponder, enjoy, and yes ... PRAISE!

How many times while in 'hind sight' consideration do we regret to notice God in the moment, or take it a step further ... look ... SEEK ... PURSUE God in our daily routine.

We call this anticipated pursuit T.E.A.M. 'Today Expect A Mircale.' Paaleeze do not confuse this with the 'blab it and grab it' movement, where you DEMAND God perform for you, because YOU say so. No, this is God loving on you through out the day, and we actually seeing it, enjoying it, and thanking Him for it.

Example: I have been on the hunt for a flat screen for my youngest son's computer. My budget being tight, VERY tight, like that of a first time sky diver leaping from the plane with their instructor! TIGHT. I was at the 2nd hand store when I 'happen' to come across a 15 inch HP flat screen. The price tag stated $4.99 (yes, I put the decimal in the right place.)

While chatting with the salesman I was now aware the screen did NOT have the power cord with it, this being just a slight problem, I began looking through the shelves of 'stuff' and FOUND ONE! Taking the screen and cord to the salesman, he then took it and tested it for me with the computer in the back room. Whalaa... that puppy worked GREAT. HOWEVER, it was at that excited peak that I noticed 2 one inch scratches in the middle of the screen. By faith I went ahead and purchased my great find.

Taking it home, I sat it down on the table, sitting in front of it, I prayed this silly yet simple prayer, "Lord, please heal this screen." Knowing that my little lad would reject mom's great find with the scratches on it. With a sponge I gently began to rub over the scratches, and YES, the scratches are GONE! Coincidence of this great find, and finding the cord, scratches gone, and it WORKS? Never. This was my miracle. Miracle, God in the ordinary.

Most folks think a miracle HAS to be big and grand. Nope. God loving on us in His way, and granting the ability to see it, now THAT is a miracle. One of my favorite verses along these lines is what Joshua said to the Israelites when preparing to cross the Jordan, "Consecrate yourselves; for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you" - Joshua 3:5 Can you imagine the anticipation they had the next morning when they woke up? In the same breath may I exhort us to be thankful in the moment of awe. Luke 17:17, Jesus heals 10 lepors, but only 1 return to praise Him, "Were there not ten healed, where are the other nine?"

May we too, wake up each morning, we may not be in need to literally cross a massive river, but seeking God in our day, seeing HIM in the ordinary, and being so very careful to THANK HIM. May we see Him while we drive the car He lovingly supplied for us, and gets us safely to our destination. See Him when going to the grocery store and 'just' the right items are on sale waiting for us! Thank Him when we wake up full of energy when the day before we were dragging and possibly getting sick. God, in the ordinary.

Today, Expect A Miracle. Text this to your friends, encourage them to see God, T.E.A.M.

In Him, DeDe ('Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love & good deeds.' - Hebrews 10:24)

Ah, Today

Ah, today. Meeting with my mentor Godly woman friend, and YES (oh yes) it is over coffee and a decident intake of chocolate. Isn't it GRAND to share a love of God, His word and His most gracious creations!

Why the Smile?

Why the smile?

"God is kind and merciful. He takes a deep breath, puts up with a lot, This most patient God, extravagant in love, always ready to cancel a catastrophe." ~ Joel 2:13 MSG

And 'I' can make a BIG mess!

Extravagant ... exceeding the limits of reason or necessity; going beyond what is deserved.

THAT is my God!

If Moses Lived Today

You're driving down the road and you see something ahead that looks quite strange. Leaning forward and squinting, a gasp slips from your lips. The scene comes into focus.

You panic? Turn around? Or you drive forward in shock. As you approach you see the moving van in front of you. Painted across the back in large bold lettering ... "Moses Transport"

Shoulders relax, head leans back, and deep guttural laughter fills the car!

Wouldn't CNN have a field day with THIS!

For Joe ~

Mr. Joe commented on my website 'why don't you blog more often' ... hm ... k ... thinkin ... rolling eyes ... sigh ... dumb look ... spinning hair around finger ... thoughts of chocolate, find window to stare out ...

My response, 'dunno'

However (again another *sigh*) I am the type of gal that likes a good challenge, and this one falls under THAT category. Great victories have started out in great attempts ... thus I will turn and face the challenge. Here's to you Joe!
